Ecolorado Rafting Passy has made Stand Up Paddle its flagship activity, and the Arve is particularly well suited to it.
The lakes of Les Illettes and Passy offer an ideal setting for learning the basics of paddleboarding, improving balance, having fun with the water and assimilating the rules of river navigation.
The Arve River is navigable over a long distance, and the stretch we descend to Passy, Sallanches and Magland is perfectly suited to Stand Up Paddle. Standing up on the current and waves is a unique, accessible and memorable experience. The first few moments are spent on your knees, then the standing position can be adopted as soon as you feel comfortable, offering a pleasant gliding sensation, even compared to the sea with a slight swell, all in a spectacular mountain setting.
On the steadier current of the Arve, you'll learn to anticipate waves, flex your legs, stay relaxed and in control, while having fun laughing in the event of a fall. Learning begins on the calm lakes, where you'll master navigation rules, balance, propulsion, turns and the use of the big paddle, as well as fall and ascent techniques.
For those who wish to discover the activity gradually, a lake initiation is available, offering a safe and supervised first experience.
