This organisation helps disabled people to enjoy a range of alpine activities, supervised by professionals with state-recognised qualifications: off-road wheelchairs, paragliding, seated skiing, tandem skiing, Tetraski...
Loisirs Assis Evasion is a non-profit organization. Its goal is to enable as many people with disabilities and their companions as possible to achieve maximum independence and enjoy mountain activities within a specialized facility in complete safety.
This mission involves offering a wide range of activities in both summer and winter, training for those wishing to practice independently or as companions, lending adapted equipment, financing youth stays in specialized facilities, organizing activities for the elderly, and participating in projects related to accessibility or the development of new adapted equipment.
* Loan of adapted equipment
Loans, under certain conditions, include several types of equipment, such as joëlettes in summer or sit-ski equipment in winter. These equipment is free for individuals, who generally make a donation to the organization to contribute to the maintenance and replacement of the equipment.
*Training
Several two-day training sessions are organized in the summer to allow professionals from specialized establishments and individuals to learn how to pilot the Cimgo.
In winter, the association offers several types of training: tandem ski piloting and assisting sit-skiers on autonomous uniskis or dualskis, piloted dualskis, tetraskis, or snow-karts. Several programs are available and take into account the skill level of those wishing to train. Every other year, a special training program for parents of children with disabilities is offered and partially funded by the association.
*Activities
Accompanying one or more people with disabilities in a mountain activity by Loisirs Assis Evasion is not limited to the duration of the activity; it also involves comprehensive support, including consideration of the type of disability and the associated constraints, adapting the equipment, and handling travel on site (under certain conditions), building the disabled person's confidence, and supporting their family or companions.
The activities offered in summer are:
- The Cimgo: this allows you to travel all types of paths, more or less steep, and discover previously inaccessible places. Comfortably seated in a secure and comfortable seat, this machine is particularly suitable for people with high levels of dependency. It is driven by a pilot standing behind the passenger.
- Paragliding: Depending on the participants' disability levels, abilities, and preferences, instructors offer tandem paragliding flights in a standing position or with a 3-wheeled chair specifically designed for paragliding.
- All-Terrain Chair (FTT): This makes hiking accessible to people with limited use of their upper limbs, whether with friends or family. FTT hiking allows you to descend mountain trails comfortably seated in a seat attached to a four-wheeled frame. You steer and control the speed of your machine yourself using mountain bike-style handlebars.
- The Electric All-Terrain Chair (FTT): This makes hiking accessible to people with limited use of their upper limbs, whether with friends or family, thanks in particular to the use of a throttle or joystick.
- Rock Climbing, Treetop Adventures, and Rafting: In partnership with external service providers, we work to best meet the specific needs of the disabled throughout the activity.
The activities offered in winter are:
- Tandemski (or Tandem'Flex for its recent version): This is a bucket-seat-type chair attached to skis, piloted by a person positioned on the skis, just behind the seat. The Tandemski allows even severely disabled people, who may be completely incapable of self-sufficiency or extremely fragile, to glide safely along ski slopes and thus enjoy the joys of winter sports.
- Uniski & Dualski: These are machines designed for people who cannot use their lower limbs. They allow skiing independently with performance comparable to that of the best able-bodied skiers.
- The Snow'Kart: This machine is designed for people who want to ski independently but who cannot use a Uniski or Dualski due to a lack of balance, strength, or poor coordination. The skier sits in a seat attached to a frame on which the skis are hinged. Two handles allow the seated skier to move and steer their skis independently.
- The Tetraski: This machine is an automated Snowkart that allows for semi-autonomous skiing, either with a joystick or a blower. It is used for people with more severe disabilities.
- The Piloted Dualski: This machine allows partially independent or totally dependent people to practice sit-skiing comfortably and efficiently. This Dualski, to which a steering bar is attached, gives the sit-skier the sensation of skiing almost independently and the pilot great user comfort.
- Off-Piste Skiing
In Summer/Winter:
- The Hippocampe: This is a type of all-terrain wheelchair with three wheels that allows access to the water for swimming in summer or for walking on snowshoe trails in winter thanks to an adaptation on the front wheel.
- The Hockey Sled: Originally designed for playing hockey in a seated position, it allows access to sliding in the same way as ice skating on ice rinks. It consists of a wrap-around seat attached to a lightweight frame, supported by two adjustable spacing blades. Accompanied by two crosses, originally for playing with pucks, these will also help you move around.
