In addition to visiting the château's exhibitions, the children's group works with a mediator on a workshop about the wool cycle.
Man and wool: a story that's been knitting for millennia! From the mouflon, a wild species with no wool, man has created the sheep, a species selected for the production of its hair.
To go from just-sheared raw wool to a ball of yarn, several stages are necessary. The aim of this workshop is to discover them by experimenting in a playful way.

The workshop takes place in 2 stages:
- the class discovers the material of wool through touch and observation. Children observe its properties through small experiments. They associate hair samples with the animal from which they come.
- the children are divided into small groups to experiment with the various stages in the transformation of wool: washing, carding, spinning, weaving.

Learning objectives:
- Experiment with wool processing
- Discover and understand how raw material is transformed into a ball of wool
- Discover the tools of the trade

Plus for cycles 3 and 4:
- Discover the challenges of animal husbandry, which is often far removed from the image we have of it.
- Understand that our actions and our consumption have an impact on the environment and our society.
