In addition to a visit to the château's exhibitions, the children's group will take part in a workshop with a mediator, focusing on the colors produced by plants.
Nature brings us a multitude of colors. But how do we recover them? Are the colors of fruits, flowers and plants the same when they become paint? The aim of this workshop is to experiment with extracting colors from plants and transforming them into natural paint.
The workshop takes place in 3 stages:
- The group discovers which plant materials can be used to make color.
- By experimenting, the children test several techniques for extracting color from plants. Then they add binders and modifiers to transform the texture and color of their paints.
- At the end of the workshop, children give free rein to their imagination and create their own work of art in natural paint.

For cycles 3 and 4:
-Learn the difference between a colorant and a pigment
- Understand how colors react with modifiers
